Alleghany HS Baseball in Honor of Bill Edwards

Bill Edwards passed away in his home on October 8, 2022. Bill is well-known in his hometown of Sparta, NC for his love of sports. He was a multi-sport athlete at Alleghany High School for four years and went on to play collegiate baseball at UNC-Chapel Hill and Appalachian State University. After earning a business degree, he returned to Alleghany County where he developed young athletes and coached Alleghany Trojans teams for many years. His love for sports and their benefits for young athletes was undeniable. He spent many of his favorite moments on Jarrett Field alongside Coach Bill Jarrett, his teammates, his children, and countless Alleghany County athletes. Bill always wanted to see the Alleghany High School baseball program thrive. We will honor Bill‘s memory by providing all funds raised to the Alleghany High School baseball program.
