We came through surgery with flying colors (such an over achiever, lol) and we started chemo. 18 months came and went, there was no doubt about it- he was a fighter.
He returned to Nashville the next fall and enjoyed his time just being Grandpa Matt to Maddox now 6 and Marlee now 4 until his recent decline. Our focus was on family, on spending time. While we are by all means "Cancer Haters" we are indebted for the clock cancer placed on the wall as a reminder to cherish these fleeting moments. Unfortunately daddy paid no such mind to the affairs that awaited. With his impending condition he was without life insurance and as his 3 children we are left with this immeseasurable loss as well as the financial burdens.
With daddy's passing, we received an outpouring of kindess and shared memories with the people who knew him even better than we did. Those pictures and memories have given us a comfort we can't explain. And for that, we'd like to say thank you, but we need some help. To know him was to love him, and now to love him is to help us send him home properly. Anything, no matter how small, is beyond appreciated.
In loving memory or our father, your brother and friend,
-Maya, James-Michael and Adrian
