Hi my name is Melissa and I’ve been the lucky bride of Roy Taylor for almost 21 years. We have 3 amazing kids. Sonnie (16) and twin boys, Ace & Maverick (13). My husband has lived a life committed to his health... body, mind, and spirit. He owned a personal training facility in Tampa for over 30 years and has coached thousands of people over the years to find optimal health. When we got the news he had colon cancer in 2017 we couldn’t have been more shocked. We tried some holistic remedies and then reluctantly turned to conventional treatment ..... chemo and radiation. These side effects became too unbearable and we once again, began looking for options..
In July fluid began to build up in his stomach due to ascites. This indicates his cancer had gotten worse and we were notified he was no longer just in stage 4, but in the late stages. The phone call that I received September 4th jolted me to my core! I was told his life expectancy would be A COUPLE OF WEEKS TO A COUPLE OF MONTHS. We needed a miracle and chose to accept the diagnosis but reject the prognosis. After long hours of research and weighing our options, we decided CHIPSA hospital in Tijuana Mexico was our answer!
We arrived at CHIPSA on Monday, Sept 16th. Treatments began immediately coupled with the Gerson Therapy which controls his nutrition intake and output. One of the treatments will vamp up his immune system with intravenous vitamin C. Then they will give him Coley's (named after the man who invented this treatment). Coley's tricks the body into thinking that it is sick and causes the immune system to kick into high gear. The idea is to train the body to kill the cancer cells without doing damage to the whole body. There are many treatments, supplements, and nutritional protocol that he is following as well as focusing on emotional healing. The doctors, nurses, psychologists, cooks, and every staff member have shown extreme kindness with one goal in mind: total healing in body, mind, and spirit.
Because of the severity of his case, the doctors are meeting almost daily to discuss our options. We are not ready to stop his treatments if there is hope they can continue to help him heal. We wanted to create this page to give you the chance to be a part of Roy's healing. The money raised will help pay for his treatments, his pleurx catheter surgery (that enables the fluid to be drained daily), and living expenses for our children while we are here.
We are humbled by your continued prayers, love, and support as we walk this very uncertain journey and tread the waters of the unknown. Roy's wish is for you to "love big and live big with no regrets"!
