I’m reaching out as a mother with a heart full of love, hope, and determination for my son, Carter.

For the past three years, our family has been living through a medical nightmare that has completely changed our lives. What started as searching for answers has turned into countless hospital admissions, emergency situations, procedures, blood work, scans, specialist appointments, and ongoing testing — all while still not having a definitive diagnosis.

Over and over again, we have faced the heartbreak of being turned away because Carter’s case was considered “too complex” or “too much.” We have fought tirelessly to find doctors willing to keep digging for answers while watching my  son continue to suffer physically, emotionally, and mentally.

At this point, our lives are split between hospital rooms and our home. There are times when it feels like the hospital has become our second home. Carter has spent periods of time in and out of critical condition, and his health remains fragile and unpredictable. He currently relies heavily on IV support, medical equipment, and constant monitoring just to stay stable while doctors continue trying to determine the root cause of what is happening to his body.

As the physical toll continues, the emotional and mental toll has become just as devastating. Carter has endured more pain, fear, uncertainty, and medical trauma than any child ever should. The constant hospitalizations, isolation from a normal childhood, procedures, and never knowing what tomorrow will bring have begun to deeply impact his mental health as well. Watching your child fight this hard while slowly losing pieces of the life they once knew is something impossible to put into words.

Despite everything, Carter continues to fight every single day with a strength that amazes everyone around him. He is brave beyond words, and as his mother, I will never stop advocating for him, searching for answers, and standing beside him through every setback and every unknown.

Along with the emotional devastation has come an overwhelming financial burden. Between constant travel to appointments, medical supplies, hospital stays, insurance battles, Social Security complications, and ongoing care needs, our family has been stretched beyond what we ever imagined possible. I also lost my job while trying to care for Carter and be present for him through his hospitalizations and medical emergencies.

Asking for help is not easy for us, but right now we truly need support. This fundraiser will help relieve some of the financial pressure so we can focus on what matters most: caring for Carter, continuing to pursue answers, and giving him the support and quality of life he deserves throughout this journey.

Most importantly, we ask for prayers, shares, and continued support. We still have hope. We still believe there are answers out there for Carter. And no matter how hard this road becomes, we will continue fighting for our son every single day.
