Bernardica's Breast Cancer Campaign

Dear family and friends,
As you know, Bernardica Sic Babic, has been recently diagnosed with malignant neoplasm of breast, an aggressive triple negative breast cancer. The cancer is spreading fast. Bernardica started her first of many chemotherapies last Monday. Bernardica has been married to Mladen for 20 years. They are wonderful parents to two children, Patrick (11) and Magdalena (16). Bernardica and Mladen have been an integral part of the Croatian community in Houston for over 12 years. They have enriched the lives of so many people in Houston by volunteering countless hours in the Croatian Club and helping preserve and promote the Croatian cultural heritage in the greater Houston area. Bernardica and Mladen spearheaded the Croatian Folklore Ensemble and the Croatian School of Houston, first of its kind in Texas. Their dedication, hard work and passion to strengthen the Croatian community in the greater Houston area has inspired so many people to join the Lone Star Croatian Club and become involved in the Croatian community. They are the type of people who would do anything for anyone and I feel truly blessed to call them my friends.
Bernardica has a long road to recovery. Without the medical insurance, Bernardica’s fight to beat the cancer will be a huge financial burden for the family. Bernardica will not be able to work while undergoing the chemotherapy. Medical bills, living expenses, fuel and other bills are piling up. They are travelling hours a day for medical treatments. The medical treatments are physically and mentally draining. We are asking everyone to help this wonderful family in their time of need. Any amount, no matter how small, would be a blessing to them! Lastly, but most importantly of all, we ask for your prayers for Bernardica's complete healing.
