Kristen & Ben's Medical Fund

Donation protected
Our friend Kristen has had a very trying week.  On Thursday, July 30, her son Benjamin had a life threatening allergic reaction (to what we may never know) and had to be rushed to the ER for epinephrine, steroids and observation.  While we thought this was just a freak event, we were with the doctors and their suggestion to bring him home when the meds appeared to be working.  Then, at 10:40pm, Kristen called me worrying about Ben’s appearance.  We met at the ER (again) and were admitted immediately.  Ben stabilized for the moment, and slept through the night.  The staff was wary of Kristen’s insistence, but about 6am on July 31, Ben began to have trouble breathing and his stats went down.  He was given a high dose of epinephrine and admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).  There were many highs and lows over the next 48-60 hrs, but as of noon August 3, 2015, Ben was downgraded to just observation and left the PICU.  We have no idea what caused this episode and there will be many tests to figure this out – so even if he’s not in the hospital – there’s a LONG ROAD AHEAD….

Kristen has been out of work (without pay) since Thursday and will be out at least until Wednesday, if not longer.  I know she’s only thinking of her family, but unfortunately, that love of family doesn’t pay the bills for the hospital, gas, electric, etc.

I’m doing the GoFundMe on behalf of a friend that is like family for me.  Kristen is the person that always has a smile on her face, would do ANYTHING for her babies and would go the extra mile for the people she cares about – and this is OUR TIME to do that for her.   I can spend the time giving hugs, staying up late, and talking – but I can’t help her financially all on my own.  I’m reaching out to her network of people (and mine) to ask you to donate whatever you can to help a great mom in need.  Please consider donating whatever you can to help this woman I call family – she would never ask herself.  If you can’t donate in funds, please say a prayer, because no matter what, the road is long in figuring out what’s going on…

 Much love!
