Adopt-a-bench on the Schuykill in memory of Justin
I would like to memorialize and honor my partner Justin by dedicating a bench along the Schuykill River to him. Justin studied architectural engineering and helped build the Schuykill boardwalk (pictured above), a new extension from the Schuykill banks which is a trail that runs along the river and is used by many in center city, Philadelphia. Myself and our two dogs now live 2 blocks away from the river and spend a lot of time on walks here and the boys sometimes let me sit, think, talk to Justin, cry, yell and everything else while looking over the water. Justin loved his work and was very proud of this project. Justin’s grave is also in Maryland so this will bring me comfort to honor him in a special way while having a place for me to go that is designated to him.
The cost of adopting the bench is $2,000. The price also includes 4 tickets to a riverboat tour so I’d like to take the top 3 donors with me on that if you live or can visit Philly. I’d also like to donate $500 in Justin’s name to the Schuykill River Foundation. Every little bit means so much to me. I appreciate you reading the story behind this and helping me do this. I have been thinking about it for two years but a bit of lovely coincidence recently pushed me to make the move finally.
