Ben & Dana Hodges Home Restoration

I am Kay Smith and I live in Austin, TX. Ben and Dana are my brother and sister-in-law.

Just like so many others in Texas, Ben and Dana have suffered the loss of so much in their home due to Hurricane Harvey. While it will be days or weeks before they know the full extent of the devastation  we know that it is catastrophic.  They have had severe flooding in their home.

Ben has always been one of the first to help in time of need. Dana, as you know, travels to and from Austin to represent so many of you at the Capitol. What many of you may not know is that she does this all at her own expense. Funding weekly trips with gas and accomodations at her own expense, she has served so many when they could not be there themselves.

This is a great time to say, "Thank you for all that you do" or just say, "we love you and we care." 

To their neighbors and those also affected by Hurricane Harvey, I do not want to minimize your suffering.  There are so many outside of the affected areas that can help them.  And to you outside of the affected area,  if you are friends of Ben and Dana's then I know you are probably already giving to relief somewhere. But this is just a chance to help this family in a personal way. 

They would both tell me, their sister, "Oh, don't do that, we'll be fine."     But I want to reach out and see how we can love them. All of this is intended to help them as they begin to restore their home.
