THE TIME IS NOW
Your gift of any size will be doubled up to $25,000!

We couldn't be more grateful ...
An anonymous Donor has pledged a $25,000 matching gift to jumpstart  this  life saving initiative -  the BELLA SPCA Non-Profit Veterinary Hospital.  We need your help to unlock these crucial funds.

Over the years we have asked for support with numerous animals and special cases, and the compassion shown never ceases to amaze us. But right now, we are making the most crucial ask in our organization's history. The BELLA SPCA Non-Profit Veterinary Hospital  will revolutionize the ways in which we can help animals and people in need.

We need to reach our initial funding goal of approximately $75,000 to open the hospital.  With our Donor's generous offer to match all gifts up to $25,000,  we will be 2/3rd's of the way there!

With the number of dogs and cats euthanized (simply because owners cannot afford veterinary care) rising nearly 12% per year, BELLA’s unique mission has never been more vital.
Over the past twelve years, BELLA SPCA has placed more than 11,000 pets into new homes and provided low cost vaccines and preventative care to thousands more.

Through our unique Veterinary Assistance Program, we have provided more than $1,000,000 in funding to people who could not afford life-saving / sustaining veterinary care. Helping to keep loved pets in their homes and out of the shelter.

AND HERE'S WHY WE DO IT...

Dogs like Orejas, saved directly from the shelter when she had no other options...
Cats like Thor, who hid under the hood of vehicle to keep warm, only to have his leg snapped and eye injured when the unknowing truck owner started the engine the next morning...
Dogs like Brutus who had been hit by a car and had a shattered pelvis. But a good samaritan stayed with him until a sheriff's deputy could help, allowing time for BELLA to step in...

Right now, we have the once in a lifetime opportunity to open a  Oklahoma's first Non-Profit Veterinary Hospital.

BELLA Co-Founder Eric McCune recently wrote these words, perfectly summing up our heart and mission-

"I have always said the dream of BELLA may be ours but the reality of Bella belongs to the fosters, volunteers, adopters, and donors. Someone asked me recently what story stands out most across all the animals we’ve saved and people we’ve helped.  For me, the story of Luke will always have a very special place in my heart.

Luke was a big energetic puppy that did what a lot of puppies do, found himself in trouble.  This trouble, however, was far more serious than most.  One afternoon, Luke bolted out his front door and in front of his family, was hit by car. Mom, Dad, and kids all saw Luke get hit. Luke’s injuries were severe and when his family took him for veterinary care they learned the cost to make him well was too far out of their reach.  With no other option and no funding, to end his suffering they took Luke to the Oklahoma City Animal Shelter to be humanely euthanized.

After Luke’s family signed him over, I was immediately contacted by the Intake Staff at the Oklahoma City Animal Shelter asking if BELLA could help. I agreed, but only one condition; they had to give me Luke’s family’s contact information.

We rushed Luke to one of our partner vets where they immediately went to work to save his life and make him whole again. I was guarded about his condition so did not notify his family right away; I didn’t want to break their hearts twice.  When Luke’s surgery was complete and the doctor called to let me know Luke was going to be all right, I finally made the call I had been hoping I would get to make.

The phone rang a few times and when it was answered I introduced myself to the woman on the other end by saying, “Hello, my name is Eric McCune and I am with BELLA SPCA.  Did you recently surrender a dog to the Oklahoma City Animal Shelter to be euthanized after he was hit by car?”  She began to cry and through tears said, “I am so sorry, we didn’t have any other choice and he was hurting so bad.”

Now through my own tears, I explained that BELLA  had stepped in and that Luke -their beloved puppy- had not been euthanized.  He was recovering at one of our partner veterinary hospitals. I shared we had picked him up and paid for the veterinary care he needed. The line was silent for a what seemed like forever before she quietly said, “Thank you so much. Luke is such a good dog, please find him a great home.”  I said, “We already have, he is coming home to you.”

Luke’s story is the essence of what BELLA is all about. Making a pet a part of your life doesn’t come with any guarantees and sometimes we are faced with things we can’t handle on our own. It doesn’t make us bad people, just people in a bad situation.  We want BELLA to always be the hand someone finds when they reach out for help".

Just like for Luke’s family, and thousands of others over the past 13 years together,  we can make a difference in someone’s life by giving them more time with their four-legged friend.  Bella SPCA isn’t just an animal rescue, we are also a people rescue.  Your support will help animals and the people who love them and keep them safe everyday.

As the first hospital of its kind in Oklahoma, BELLA's Non-Profit Hospital will be a vital resource for pet owners of all economic levels -for those needing assistance AND those who want to help others as they are caring for their own pet. Our own capacity to rescue dogs and cats will greatly increase but to make the Hospital a reality, we URGENTLY MUST MEET THIS FUNDRAISING MILESTONE.

For the sake of the animals....(Thor recovered quite nicely)

And the people who love them....
