Beckett's Miracle
"You intended to harm me, but God intended it for GOOD to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives." Genesis 50:20
On May 10, two-year-old Beckett Marx suffered severe injuries to his mouth and cheek resulting from dog bites. After being rushed to the hospital in Meridian, Idaho, he was quickly moved to Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.
His first 2-hour surgery took place on Thursday, May 11th. With three heads of surgery contributing, God enabled his medical team to accomplish much more than they initially anticipated - a HUGE PRAISE. Sweet Beckett has a long road to recovery and more surgeries in his future, but God is faithful! The Marx family will remain in Salt Lake City for several weeks, as Beckett's long-term recovery plan takes shape.
Your contributions will help offset medical, travel and recovery expenses, as mama Denee and papa D.J. navigate this season of healing with their family. Beckett's current prognosis includes a minimum of a 1 surgery per year for the next 5 years, in addition to surgical insertion of an oral brace, speech and muscular therapy and special nutritional requirements. Your continued prayers are coveted - for miraculous, complete restoration for Beckett, for strength and clarity for D.J. and Denee, for his medical team, and for his big sisters, Brooklyn and Brynn.
D.J. SAYS:
"Our God is a big and mighty God. Our prayers are powerful and effective. Thank you, thank you for your great encouragement, prayers, thoughtful texts, messages and overall love. You have made Denee and I feel blessed beyond belief and I believe Beckett will come out stronger, more confident, and more aware of the beauty of life because of this event. You all inspire me, and Denee and I are blessed to have such a support."
DENEE SAYS:
"Through the storms God has always proven faithful so we were expectant for Him to show up and He did! We specifically prayed for the remaining tissue (which a large mass was completely missing) would miraculously come together and it would be for no other reason than God showing up! As the surgeons (3!) greeted us in the waiting room they were amazed at how his tissue came together better than they expected. I told the Resident we were praying for each person in that operating room. "Hold tight to Jesus, cling to his Love, hold tight to his goodness and don't ever doubt this truth that when you hold onto Jesus he is holding onto you"...this song I have sung over my babies...I played it over and over as we were in the various emergency rooms, ambulances. Then sang Jesus Loves Me and This Little Light of Mine into Beckett's ear to calm him...through all of this let Christ be known that our God is greater, steadfast, and alive and present in our lives. May Christ's goodness shine no matter our joys or sorrows. Blessed Be His Name! Thank you for rallying around Beckett today. We feel the love and want you to know that your prayers matter! We have a long road ahead still and this is just the first of many surgeries for this sweet boy but we believe God is good and will turn it all to good. That is truth we cling to."
