Becca Needs Your Help

As some of you already know, my sister Becca had a stroke on Friday 8/7. This was caused by extremely high blood pressure and it caused a very bad brain bleed on her brain stem. They had to place an EVD in her head to drain the bleed and release the pressure, but we are happy to report that has been removed. She was able to come off of the ventilator on 8/11 and it was replaced by a trach. On 8/15 they were able to turn the machine off & she has been breathing on her own through the trach with the help of oxygen. She is still in ICU & is no where near out of the woods, but she is making baby steps everyday. We have been told that she has a very long road of recovery ahead of her. Once she is stable enough to be released from the hospital, she will need to go to a skilled long term care facility for rehabilitation. Like many people I know, Becca does not have health insurance. We are working to get her approved for a few things that may help, but we will end up having to pay for A LOT out of pocket and as we all know, healthcare ain’t cheap. I have set the goal at $100,000 because honestly I have no idea what all of this is going to cost. I want to thank everyone who has reached out to us and to everyone who is praying and/or sending good vibes. It means so much to myself and my parents, and I know it will mean the world to Becca!!
