Hi - my name is Mary Beaujon Calissie and I am hoping to raise funds to assist my brother Beau who was recently diagnosed with myelofibrosis, a rare blood cancer. It causes a scarring of the blood marrow and Beau is on the list currently for a bone marrow transplant.
For those of you that know, Beau, this is not something he wants to be doing. He is a proud man, he prides himself on taking care of his own business. But sometimes things are overwhelming and you need to swallow your pride and ask for help - because you desperately need it. This is one of those times.
As a single father of an 11 year old boy, he’d rather be on the field coaching and leading the troops. God, however, had other plans for him.
Right now he is traveling to a hospital in Reno Nevada, which is about two hours from his home every other day to have a blood transfusion. This is just to maintain his current health while we wait for a donor. Matt and I are too old to be considered donors, if you know, Matt, you know he’s very upset about being told he’s not able to be considered.
Beau was a long time coach here in the Johnstown area. He served as head football coach at Ferndale High school and as head wrestling coach at Westmont Hilltop. He has deep ties to our community and is and will always be a Johnstown kid always no matter where he lives. He’s passed on his deep love of all Pittsburgh, sporting teams and WVU to his son, who represents us out in California.
Please consider donating anything you can to help him with the expense of his travel and medical bills that are going to be overwhelming.
We appreciate all your love and prayers and any help that you can offer!
