SOUL Charter School is not just a school, we are a movement to revolutionize our school system. We recognize that our school system has remained the same for the past 100 years. The school system was build on the foundation of teaching only to the mental/cognitive aspect of the being. And, as a result, students are graduating high school disconnected from their life passions and purpose.
Thus, SOUL is pioneering a new model of education.
On January 19, 2017, SOUL made history as we became the first charter school approved by the San Diego County Office of Education in the past 15 years!
Our mission is to provide exceptional education that awakens individuals to know who they are, discover their passions and purpose, and thrive holistically, to achieve both mental and life mastery.
SOUL, the School Of Universal Learning, defines Universal Learning as learning that is purposeful for all people at all times of their life. There are three major components to Universal Learning:
Integra (the Latin word for entire, complete, whole): Our holistic program which teaches to all parts of the being, through our five building blocks: Mental Power Monday, Emotional Intelligence Tuesday, Social Skills Wednesday, Physical Well Being Thursday, and Personal Development Friday.
RAREE Explorations- All RAREE Explorations are Relatable, Applicable, Relevant, Experiential and Engaging. Each exploration runs for 9 weeks and combines project based and experiential learning to answer an essential question and create a final product.
Entrepreneurial/Essential Life Education- a series of elective classes that give students the tools and skills they need to thrive in today’s world.

How your dollars will be spent:
The first $25,000 raised will go directly to the students at SOUL. This money will be utilized to provide professional supplies and tools, exceptional field experiences, and all the resources needed to fully implement our program.
The second $25,000 will provide SOUL with the Entrepreneurial/Life Skills teacher. This will be a part time teacher for our first year of operation and turn into a full time position in year two.
The third $25,000 will go towards raising teachers’ salaries. Part of changing educational paradigms, includes changing the priority on country places on teachers. We need to value teachers more and compensate them properly. (In Finland, a country that is leading the world educationally, teaching is a highly valued and respected position.)
All money raised after $75,000 will go toward SOUL’s permanent state of the art facility! We have started working with an organization who has agreed to front us $7 million dollars toward our permanent home. This money will provide us with the down payment needed to properly make the transition from leasing a facility to creating a permanent home for SOUL!
