Battle Cancer with the Williams

Over the years, Graham has been known to tell his share of funny jokes but his battle with cancer over the past year has certainly not been comedic in the least. 

 

Graham's wife, Cathy, has been by his side for over 39 years and the past year has been no different! Over a year ago, Graham was diagnosed with lymphoma and more recently, the doctors discovered tumors on his brain. Due to the tumors, his memory has greatly suffered and Cathy has been patiently and lovingly reminding him to place the phone back on the receiver, not in the hall closet. 

 

Graham has been unable to enjoy everything he used to - like fishing, morning coffee with friends at the local coffee shop and playing crib. Instead, he has been spending his time trying to manage his pain and get through each day with a debilitating headache. Recently, he started radiation treatment to shrink the tumors and provide some relief from the pain. 

 

Needless to say, the hats he once wore - like grass-cutter, oil-changer, snow-blower and household and property maintenance manager - have long been hung on the hat rack. Cathy has taken on many of the household responsibilities but due to her own limitations, has been unable to keep up. Cathy has taken many weeks off from work to spend time with and care for Graham and he has also been unable to work for almost a year. Unfortunately, that does not mean their bills and expenses also take time off. 

 

Many of these expenses come with a high price tag and are simply not feasible with the Williams'current income. For those of us who can assist financially, we can help minimize the financial burden that Cathy has to carry, and help her focus on what truly matters: spending valuable time with her husband, Graham!
