A Bark for Help

Hi everyone my name is Brian and as hard as it might be to  believe I am not the handsome 3 year old pup in the picture that you see.  His name  is cujo and i rescued him 2 and a half years ago off of a jobsite in Revere when i had heard a woman saying she was going to have to put him down, because she  "couldn't handle" him anymore because he wouldn't stop crying and whining. Come to find out the dog was locked down for 23 hours a day in a crate and let out once a day to use the bathroom and  she  wondered why the neighbors complained he would cry all day long. To make a long story short my new best friend needed a little t.l.c. actually quite a bit of it, for the first 72 hours we were up every half hour to hour because  of  his UTI  but we got through it. We got through 2 skunk sprays.  1 dog attack and too many torn up hats to count but we got through it. Here  is my plea to you  who ever reads this may you realize how much I love this dog and know we are supposed to have more time together, Cujo fell off the couch 2 days ago and continually his condition got worse so today his back legs completely stopped working when we woke up in bed this morning. Getting around was him dragging himself along with his two front legs. At the vet the neurologist' diagnosis  was  extremely depressing and broke  me and my girlfriends heart because the vet gave us the option have surgery and he has an 85 to 90 percent chance of full mobility again and a completely normal life, but then he dropped the bomb that it was 6500 dollars for the surgery alone. I do not have the money and this is my last option and its been a humbling experience to have to type this plea for help. The vet gave us other news that we could either put the dog down or take him home and he has a 5 percent chance of getting some feeling back in his legs and being able to use the bathroom on his own. 5 percent i thought about it to myself while I walked outside for a breathe of fresh air and weighed the options who could I call who could I borrow money from and I realized the only one who could've helped and would have understood was my grandmother and thought to dial her number and in my daze over thinking about cujos predicament forgot for a half a second she passed on this passed April , my other best friend who was my rock and i couldn't bare of thinking of losing cujo who came into my life  and brought  happiness when I was having a tough time looking at myself in the mirror.  i didnt mean to sound like a pity party for me at all I just wanted to convey how much this dog means to me and that i took him home today and am trying my best to do everything I can for him and praying for that 5 percent, but if enough of you read this and maybe could find a way to make this happen, you wont find a more grateful and appreciative person for giving my best friend another chance, thank you for taking the time to read this and hear Cujos story.
