Who are we? This Crowd-Funded relief effort is initiated by non-resident Indians (NRIs) residing in Canada and the USA whose collective intention is to help Bengal relief effort.
What are we doing: West Bengal (India) has been severely affected by Super cyclone "Amphan", with an initial damage estimate of 13.2 billion USD. This fund is dedicated to organizations who are proactively supporting people at grass root level in different areas in West Bengal including Sunderbans and north & south 24 Parganas. While there are continuous and necessary efforts by large institutions and governments to facilitate systemic recovery, this fund is aimed at supporting grassroot-entities to help people with their immediate needs in the aftermath.

West Bengal is a state in eastern India inhabited by more than 90 million people. Super cyclone "Amphan" has unleashed its fury on Bengal and stroke directly into its heart Kolkata. This natural disaster has affected every citizen of Bengal directly or indirectly.. The damage is feared to be of the magnitude of 13.2 billion USD. Over 500000 people have been evacuated from their homes in the coastal areas and right now they are deprived of basic human rights - food, cloth and shelter.
Streets have been flooded, trees uprooted and homes destroyed. Once the rainwater recedes, we will know the full extent of the damage. However, when you see the photos and videos, as Bengalis, we know how bad the extent of damage is. Everything from public infrastructure to people's housing needs help in re-building. These are places where we have been born, where we grew up, we visited and have wonderful memories associated with it. Now they are just rubbles and concrete.
Folks, the time has come to stand-up for "Amar Bangla". Let's donate now and show how much we care for our loved ones and of course "Amar Bangla".
What happens to the fund collected? 100% of the fund will be sent to a few organizations/collectives who are actively working on supporting victims of the disaster. We have a list of valid and legit organizations who are based out of a few different locations in West Bengal such as Sunderbans, Medinipore, South Kolkata, South 24 Parganas. We have started communication with a few to understand how the fund can be best utilized. We are making steady progress in finalizing some of the logistics before transferring the fund.

বাংলার পাশে বাংলার সাথে
হঠাৎ করে আজ সময়টা বড় অদ্ভুত, যখন সারা বিশ্ব এক অভুতপূর্ব মহামারীর সাথে লড়ছে, সবাই বলতে গেলে দিশেহারা ঠিক সেই সময় এক ঘূর্ণিঝড় আছড়ে পড়েছে বাংলার বুকে। আমরা যারা নিজেদের বাড়ি বা জন্মস্থান থেকে অনেক দূরে থাকি তারা বিভিন্ন সামাজিক গণমাধ্যম মারফৎ আমাদের কিছু পরিচিত জায়গার ছবি দেখে শিউরে উঠেছি। প্রকৃতির এহেন ধংসলীলা বঙ্গদেশ কোনোদিন দেখেছে কিনা তার কোনো সঠিক হিসেব কেউ দিতে পারেনি।আমরা হয়তো অনেকেই আমাদের প্রিয়জনের সাথে যোগাযোগ করতে গিয়ে বার বার ব্যর্থ হয়েছি বা কোনক্রমে যোগাযোগ করতে পেরেছি।অনেক মানুষ আজ সহায় সম্বল হারিয়েছেন, অনেকের আজ মাথাগোজার ঠাই টুকু নেই, এমতবস্থায় আমাদের করণীয় যথাযত সাহায্যের হাত বাড়িয়ে দেওয়া ত্রাণ কার্যের দিকে, অন্তত কিছু মানুষের পাশে যাতে আমরা দাড়াতে পারি এই আশা নিয়ে আমাদের এই ছোট্ট প্রচেষ্টা "বাংলার পাশে বাংলার সাথে"।
আমরা কারা?
আমরা গুটিকয়েক মানুষ যারা আজ কর্মসূত্রে উত্তর আমেরিকার বিভিন্ন শহরে ছড়িয়ে ছিটিয়ে আছি, যাদের এই সম্মিলিত প্রয়াসের একমাত্র উদ্যেশ্য হলো এই দূর্দিনে বাংলার মানুষের সাথে থাকা তাদের পাশে থাকা

ত্রাণ তহবিলের অর্থ মূলত ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত এলাকার বিভিন্ন সমাজসেবী প্রতিষ্ঠানের হাথে তুলে দেওয়া হবে
