Bambi Leanne's PINK Fight

As the McLaughlin family looked forward to the end of another school year and an exciting summer, Leanne (Bambi) had the uneasy feeling something was not right. After discovering a lump in her left breast through self-exam, she immediately made an appointment with her OB/GYN who sent her for a mammogram the following week. After the exam confirmed the presence of a 2.9cm mass, a needle biopsy was performed 3 days later. On May 4, 2018 at 9:18 am, Leanne received the call she will never forget and heard the words every person fears, “you have cancer”.
Since the initial phase of diagnosis, Leanne’s life has been turned upside down, as I am sure you can all imagine. Doctor’s visits for poking and prodding started immediately. Schedules are filled-up with appointments and follow-ups when they should be filled with after-school events and movie dates.
But Leanne’s outlook is positive. Thankfully, her breast cancer is HIGHLY treatable. She will undergo surgery on May 31, 2018 to remove the tumor and determine if cancer has spread to any of her lymph nodes. If all goes well, she will then undergo approximately 4 weeks of radiation therapy followed by 5 years of hormone blockers.
This fundraiser has been started to help Leanne and her family with the astronomical medical bills that are about to start flooding her mailbox. They have already started arriving from the initial testing. Leanne does have health insurance, but her deductible must be met before United Healthcare will start paying 80% of the costs. Our goal is to reach the "family maximum" for her plan which is $10,000. At that point, UHC will cover 100% of her treatments. All the monies collected here will go directly to her medical expenses and nothing else.
For those who may not know Leanne well or as I call her, Bambi, she's the best mom to two wonderful children, Cassidy (16) and Jackson (11). They both keep her on her toes, but she's also a wife, daughter, sister, and friend. Bambi always has it together and never lets anyone down. She works 40 hours a week and stays busy being a mom and spending time with her family after-hours and on the weekends.
On that note, Bambi has an amazing support system at home. ALL of her family and friends have rallied to her side with great intensity. Would you be able to lend your support as well? No donation is too small and every dollar helps. Let's fight this together!
