Help Craig Knock Out Cancer

Donation protected
Dear Family and Friends and those who want to sock it to cancer!

My brother in-law, Craig Bair has Stage IV Lung Cancer, more specifically non-small cell adenocarcinoma.

Because Craig & Shawn are private, a bit stubborn and don’t want to put anybody out - they have been asked if we can do a fundraiser and they have repeatedly said, NO NOT YET!  Many people have been asking, ‘What can we do??’ and I have continued to persist in setting up a donation page to help with mounting bills. No, they didn’t have medical insurance until Jan. 1st, after testing, an ER visit, two surgeries and a week hospital stay had been tacked onto their “self-pay” bill.
Finally, the persuasion and coercion paid off, and they have consented to the posting of a gofundme page.

o   Craig was having back problems which became severe in September 2016 and progressively worsened to the point of not being able to walk or work.

o   In mid-December he was sent for an MRI which revealed a TUMOR on his spine that had deteriorated the L2 vertebrate.

o   He was immediately sent to the ER and the 1st surgery was performed the next day to remove as much tumor as possible, preceded by a more invasive surgery the following day to replace the L2 with a cage, perform a fusion, and give him a scar that resembles a shark attack.

o   After two surgeries, and his release from a week stay in the hospital, Craig began his 10 session radiation treatments. He has the blisters on his back to confirm it.

o   He ended up in the ER two more times, with two additional surgeries, both to relieve the buildup of fluid on his back. He currently sports a drain to avoid a repeat surgery.

Craig and Shawn recently celebrated their 7th wedding anniversary and feel they haven’t had nearly enough time together. They are doing their best to remain positive and are highly motivated to seek out alternative treatments. Research is a continual nightly endeavor.

If you haven’t met my brother in-law Craig, I would describe him as:  Easy going, good sense of humor, kind hearted, optimistic and simply a joy to be around.

“What can we do?” Consider a donation to help Craig knock this unwelcomed visitor out, and start life after cancer without a mountain of bills.

There will also be a #BairHug Bowl-a-Thon on March 14th. We are reaching out to businesses and individuals who would like to sponsor a lane. Visit our evenbrite link for more details: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/bairhug-bowl-a-thon-cancer-fundraiser-tickets-32359864225
