Backpacks for Children in Foster Care!

Abby Hamlett inspired me to make this GoFundMe.  Abby recently went through a very tough time with some medical issues and I reached out to her wondering if there was anything I could do to help. Abby had the great idea that I could raise money while I was hiking the Appalachian trial, I said you know that's not a bad idea. I had already struggled with the lack of benefit I was making on the outside world by hiking the Appalachian trial. In fact I was only negatively impacting the woods by hiking the Appalachian trial. Abby mentioned that a lot of children that are in foster care, carry around all of there belongings in trash bags and Abby wanted to change that.
We did some research and we found out the there was this perfect program called Comfort Cases
Comfort Cases mission is to provide children in foster care with backpacks. Check out there story at

Backpacks are something that are very important on the Appalachian trial as well, it is what houses all of our belongings. The backpack that we carry; stores our food, our clothes that keep us warm, and our tent and sleeping bag that keeps us safe and out of the elements at night. Without our Backpack we would not be able to carry any of the items that make a thru-hike possible. Could you imagine living out of a trash bag?

So this is what we are trying to do raise a little bit of money for some kids in need. If you choose to support us thank you so much!
