What was meant to be one last trip to Florida as a family of three turned into a frightening and unexpected emergency when Brittany went into labor at just 30 weeks pregnant. During the flight, Brittany’s water broke suddenly, and in what truly felt like an answered prayer, a gynecologist and an L&D nurse who happened to be on the plane were able to help until the flight could make an emergency landing. After arriving at Winnie Palmer Hospital, doctors did everything they could to keep baby Kyler safely in place a little longer, including giving Brittany steroid shots to help his lungs develop and magnesium to help protect his brain. But on September 5th, sweet Kyler made his early arrival at 30 weeks and is now in the NICU on breathing support while his tiny lungs continue to grow stronger.
As Brittany recovers and both parents face the heartbreak and uncertainty of having their baby hospitalized far from home, the Lewallen family is carrying an emotional and financial burden no one could have planned for. Donations will help cover the unexpected costs that come with a NICU stay away from home, including airfare for Gavin to travel back and forth to Florida, lodging, meals, transportation, and other day-to-day expenses during Kyler’s hospitalization. Brittany and Gavin are deeply loved, and now Ashley is asking others to surround them with that same love and support. Please consider sharing this fundraiser, and keeping the Lewallen’s in your prayers as they walk through these upcoming days together.
