Support Year One of Broken Token Productions
Donation protected
Broken Token Productions was founded by Danny Bernardo to address the lack of opportunities and representation for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities in the arts. Broken Token strives to ensure that artists can create with freedom and audiences can see their experiences reflected back to them with authenticity. The mission is to build a creative home where diversity is celebrated, every voice is valued, and to subvert the working standards usually found within PWI’s.
Broken Token Productions is launching with a very ambitious year one with:
-A full-length play written by Philip Dawkins and directed by Spenser Davis (Fall 2025)
-A TBD musical, either a DEI deconstruction of a classic musical OR an LA-premiere of a rock musical (Spring 2026, pending on funds raised)
-A short film that either examines the life of a trans man and his fallen hero OR a subversion of family holiday comedy (Q1 Spring 2026, pending on funds raised)
-Two concert events, one as a fundraiser for a TBD community organization
-New work incubator
-Fees associated with incorporating
The funds raised will directly support the costs of space rental, fair pay for talent and production teams, marketing expenses, and essential production expenses. With the first production scheduled for the fall, this seed money is crucial to bring these projects to life and sustain the company through its inaugural year. The current goal is for bare minimum of production needs. Anything raised in excess will be used to invest further both into year one projects and lay the groundwork for year two.
Every contribution helps create opportunities for underrepresented artists and brings new, authentic stories to the stage and screen. What we can accomplish together in year one will build a strong foundation in year two and we thank you for being part of this journey!
