This trip to Ecuador will be once in a life time for me and I'm happy I'm getting the opportunity to go. I am a San Francisco state student who has never gotten the opportunity to study abroad and now I have been given the opportunity. I was raised in Oakland and Richmond and I would have never dreamed of being lucky enough to take such a trip.
The trip is 18 days immersed in the Spanish language with university certified teachers within the study abroad program. I will be travelling to coastal Bahía de Caraquez, Ecuador and staying at Casa Gorda, which is a bamboo hostel. And I will also travel to the beautiful Andean city of Cuenca, Ecuador and learn the language from professional trained Spanish teachers. I'll be working alongside local students in their greenhouses, collaborate on murals, then camp overlooking the beach, and participate in reforestation projects.
