Baby Kaleb, Our Fighting Warrior
Hi Family and Friends,
We are so excited about the birth of Cynthia and Kyle's baby, Kaleb Kekoa Hall. Baby Kaleb was born at 35 weeks on February 5, 2014 at just 4.6 lbs, 17.5 inches long and with a birth defect that affects 1 in 4,000 births. Gastroschisis is a defect in which his intestines grow outside of his abdominal cavity.
He was immediately transferred to the NICU at Children's Hospital of Los Angeles and his intestines were slowly placed back into his abdominal cavity through the use of a silo. His abdomen was surgically closed on February 12, 2014. Baby Kaleb has been in the NICU at Children's Hospital due to complications related to his gastroschisis.
Cynthia and Kyle have been commuting from the Antelope Valley to CHLA on a daily basis.
Baby Kaleb has made great progress and he is ready to come home. Due to delays with his medical insurance processing, he presently does not have medical coverage. Assistance is needed to cover his out of pocket medical expenses, Dr. visits and medication that he desperately needs.
We are in the process of raising funds for his medical expenses so that he can finally come home. We invite you to view his site in hope that you may wish to contribute toward Baby Kaleb's medical needs. Thank you and God bless.
