To Live a Destiny: Ignite Azusa

What if our generation is pregnant with birthing the next Great Awakening and Azusa Now (The Call Azusa) is the tipping point? If this might really be the case, what would it look like if this unified Body of Christ assembling at Azusa for the 110th anniversary knew the depths of God’s history there to be able to draw from and tap into the power of the testimony? What kind of focused prayers and greater signs, wonders, miracles, and stewardship of the awakening might take place because of this investment? What if the next Jesus People Movement is just around the corner? Can you feel the stirring deep within your spirit?
After spending 4 years in England studying the beginnings of global Pentecostalism, which had significant roots at Azusa Street, I am struck by the perfect positioning of what God is about to unleash in our generation at the Call Azusa Street led by Lou Engle.
I released my very first booklet Silver to Gold at the Call in San Francisco in 2003 before I published the full version in England years later. Last year I had the honor of connecting with Lou Engle when he was praying and fasting for 40 days at the Home of Peace in Oakland, California. He discovered that Azusa Street attendee, scribe, and intercessor Frank Bartleman stayed there and wrote in the guestbook calling for intercessors to arise. This caused Lou to burn even more to pray for our nation. I had the opportunity to take some friends from Destiny House and from Bethel to release Carrie Judd Montgomery’s story to Lou and his team and pray over them while they were preparing for The Call Berkeley at Home of Peace. Through the mighty hand of God, the Holy Spirit is raising up Lou to lead The Call Azusa and rent out a stadium to worship Jesus and see His kingdom come to America. Bill Johnson along with Bethel and all of Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry have decided to fully partner with Lou to see revival sweep across America and to tap into the wells of revival at Azusa Street. They even canceled their BSSM mission trips to send the whole student body to Los Angeles to support the work God is doing in our generation.
It feels as if all of my worlds are intersecting, especially because 14 of the 16 ladies living at Destiny House right now are also in BSSM and preparing to go to this historic event. I also find it fascinating that most of my Ph.D. studies while in England were on the roots and influences of global Pentecostalism, specifically the Azusa Street Revival and I just finished writing a chapter for a book about the liturgy of the Azusa Street Revival and the Welsh Revival in addition to other articles and books I have written that relate to Azusa Street.
I have been in contact with Lou and he has invited me to partner with him and The Call Azusa to contribute some writings about Azusa Street to possibly use for their social media to help prepare people for what God wants to do for them.
I also feel that the Lord is commissioning me over the next few months to pray, study, research, and write a book about the Azusa Street Revival to support this great move of God. It’s also on my heart to spend some focused time studying even deeper the Azusa Street Revival and teaching more about it at Destiny House, release some videos online, and writing about it to help position people know the depth of the well we can tap into so we can go even deeper with God in our generation.
The money raised will directly go towards costs of cover design, editing, formatting, production, covering my two months of my time (up to 320 hours) to research, write, and release this book to help prepare for what God is doing. This will also cover the costs for going to the event in April and participating in preliminary trainings, meetings, trips, or materials in preparation. Every dollar invested will contribute to helping make this project possible.
I feel this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to sow into what God is doing. Please pray about partnering with me however great or small. Your prayers and investment will reap a harvest!
