Hola, yo soy Pixie

Tengo 13 años y fui rescatado en 2019 afuera de un hospital en la CDMX. Me acercaba a la gente buscando comida, y fue ahí cuando mis humanos me vieron y decidieron llevarme a casa para darme un hogar seguro y lleno de amor. Desde entonces he sido un gato feliz: persigo rayos de sol, ronroneo junto a ellos y convivo con mis hermanos peludos.

Hace unas semanas mi salud empezó a empeorar. Me encontraron ganglios inflamados, el bazo crecido y un riñón con forma anormal. Mis doctores sospechan que podría ser linfoma (cáncer) o una enfermedad inflamatoria intestinal grave. Actualmente estoy en tratamiento para controlar los síntomas, pero necesitamos más estudios para saber exactamente qué tengo y así darme el tratamiento correcto.

Estos son los próximos pasos y en qué se usará el dinero:

Biopsia líquida ($5,500 MXN) para detectar linfoma.

Biopsia de tejido (si es viable) $8,000–$10,000 MXN para confirmar tipo y grado.

Consulta con oncólogo veterinario ($1,500 MXN).

Medicamentos (corticoides, CBD, suplementos, probióticos) $1,500–$2,000 MXN mensuales.

Terapias de líquidos y hospitalización ocasional $4,000–$6,000 MXN.

Posible quimioterapia (si es necesaria) $15,000–$25,000 MXN según protocolo.

En total, estimamos que el tratamiento inicial y los estudios costarán alrededor de $60,000 MXN.

Mis humanos podrían haber tomado la decisión de dejarme ir, pero yo les muestro cada día, con mis ronroneos y ganas de seguir, que aún quiero estar aquí. No es un capricho: es amor y ganas de vivir.

I used to approach people looking for food, and that’s when my humans saw me and decided to take me home, giving me a safe place filled with love. Since then, I’ve been a happy cat—chasing sunbeams, purring next to them, and enjoying life with my furry siblings.

A few weeks ago, my health started to decline. The vets found enlarged lymph nodes, an enlarged spleen, and a kidney with an unusual shape. My doctors suspect it could be lymphoma (cancer) or a severe inflammatory bowel disease. I’m currently on treatment to manage symptoms, but I need more tests to know exactly what’s wrong so I can get the right treatment.

Here’s what’s next and how the funds will be used:

Liquid biopsy – $300 USD (5,500 MXN) to detect lymphoma.

Tissue biopsy (if viable) – $450–$550 USD (8,000–10,000 MXN) to confirm type and grade.

Oncologist consultation – $85 USD (1,500 MXN).

Medications (corticosteroids, CBD, supplements, probiotics) – $85–$110 USD (1,500–2,000 MXN) per month.

Fluid therapy & occasional hospitalization – $225–$350 USD (4,000–6,000 MXN).

Possible chemotherapy (if needed) – $850–$1,400 USD (15,000–25,000 MXN) depending on protocol.

In total, we estimate the initial treatment and tests will cost around $3,500 USD (60,000 MXN).

My humans could have made the heartbreaking decision to let me go, but every day I show them—with my purrs and my will to fight—that I still want to be here. This isn’t a whim: it’s love and the desire to live.
