Ayudemos a Irene a superar esta nueva batalla contra el cáncer:

Soy Andrea del Olmo, muy cercana y amiga de la familia Sequera Amezquita y me he tomado el atrevimiento de poder ayudar a organizar la recaudación de fondos para que podamos curar a Irene.

Aqui les dejo su historia:

Soy Maria Fernanda Sequera, e Irene Amézquita es mi mamá, mujer agradecida por la vida, llena de amor y fe.

Mi madre (a la derecha en la foto), junto a mi padre, es lo más importante de mi vida. Juntos hemos luchado muchas batallas desde mis primeros días de vida; y todas con la ayuda de Dios, las hemos superado.

Mi madre, con valentía y fe ya ha superado el cáncer dos veces; y ahora nos toca superarlo de nuevo en condiciones aún más difíciles y adversas. Por ello recurrimos a su ayuda. Hace unos meses mi madre empezó a sentir fuertes dolores de cabeza y otros síntomas producto de un tumor cerebral de alto grado, diagnosticado como glioblastoma; detectado recién hace un par de semanas.

La situación actual en Venezuela no permite tener recursos financieros suficientes para

costear un seguro médico y gastos médicos asociados al tratamiento. El sistema de salud público venezolano desde hace mucho tiempo no cuenta con los medios para tratar el cáncer.

Necesitamos ayuda porque la primera etapa del tratamiento fue el diagnosticar el tipo de tumor a través de una de craneotomía guiada por estereotaxia que costo USD$15,000.

Luego el empezar el tratamiento de radioterapia y quimioterapia va a costar cerca de los USD$13,000. Dependiendo de cómo mi mamá responda al tratamiento; es probable que se requieran futuras cirugías y tratamiento de inmunoterapia cuyos costos son elevados; sobre los USD$40,000.

Las veces anteriores, a pesar de que los gastos eran elevados, salimos adelante. Pero esta vez debido al tipo de cáncer, los altos costos de cualquier procedimiento médico y la velocidad con la que debemos actuar para sanar a mi mamá, excede nuestras capacidades financieras.

Por ello acudimos a la ayuda y a la buena voluntad de todos aquellos que puedan hacer una donación. Cualquier aporte significa mucho para nosotros; es un pasito adelante hacia la sanación de mi mamá.

Le damos gracias a ustedes y a Dios por la contribución que puedan hacer en este

momento para ayudarnos; cualquier cantidad es bendecida y agradecida.

Let's help Irene beat yet another battle against brain cancer:

Hello, I am Maria Fernanda Sequera, and Irene Amézquita is my mother, a woman grateful for life, full of love and faith.

My mother and my father are the most important things in my life. Together we have fought many battles since my first days of life, and with God's help, we have overcome them.

With courage and faith, my mother has already beaten cancer twice; now, we have to do it again, this time under more difficult and adverse conditions. That is why we come to you for your help.

A few months ago, my mother began to feel severe headaches and other symptoms due to a high-grade brain tumour, diagnosed as glioblastoma, which was just discovered a couple of weeks ago.

Venezuela's current situation does not allow to have sufficient financial resources to pay for health insurance; neither medical expenses associated with treatment. The Venezuelan public health system has not had for years the resources necessary to treat cancer.

We need help because the first stage of treatment, which was to diagnose the type of

tumour through a stereotaxy-guided craniotomy, cost US$15,000.

Starting the radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatment will cost around USD$13,000.

Depending on how my mom responds to the treatment; it is probable that future surgeries and immunotherapy treatment will be required; with the costs estimated to be over USD$40,000 – out of our financial capabilities.

The previous times, even though the expenses were high, they were within our means to resolve. But this time, due to the type of cancer, the high costs of any medical procedure, and the speed with which we must act to heal my mom, exceeds our financial capabilities.

For this reason, we turn to the help and goodwill of all who can donate. Any contribution means a lot to us; it is a small step towards my mom's healing.
