Esta campaña busca apoyar a Víctor Hugo Rendón, un hombre de 39 años, esposo y padre de dos hijas, cuya vida cambió drásticamente a partir del año 2024 debido a una retinopatía diabética.

En mayo de 2024, los médicos le indicaron que debía someterse a tratamiento y cirugía para controlar su enfermedad, aunque aún había tiempo. Durante varios meses recibió tratamientos con láser de argón a través del ISSS, con la esperanza de detener el avance del daño ocular. Sin embargo, en diciembre de ese mismo año, su situación se complicó gravemente.

El 2 de diciembre de 2024, Víctor tuvo que iniciar una incapacidad prolongada, ya que su visión comenzó a deteriorarse de manera acelerada. En diciembre todavía podía conducir, pero para enero ya no podía hacerlo. Poco a poco fue perdiendo la capacidad de distinguir rostros y de moverse con autonomía, incluso dentro de su propia casa. Él era el único sostén económico de su familia, y desde entonces no ha podido volver a trabajar.

Para junio de 2025, los médicos le informaron que el tratamiento con láser ya no era viable debido a la cantidad de sangre acumulada en la retina y el vítreo, lo que impidió que el procedimiento surtiera efecto. Esto provocó el desarrollo de un glaucoma en el ojo izquierdo, el cual lamentablemente ya no puede recuperarse.

Aun así, existe una pequeña esperanza de salvar el ojo derecho, lo que le permitiría recuperar parte de su autonomía y mejorar su calidad de vida. Para lograrlo, necesita someterse a una cirugía que incluye:

facoemulsificación de cristalino + vitrectomía + membranectomía + retinopexia + aplicación de silicón en el ojo derecho, además de una termociclofotocoagulación en el ojo izquierdo.

El costo total del procedimiento y del tratamiento postoperatorio asciende aproximadamente a $5,000, una cantidad imposible de cubrir para su familia en las circunstancias actuales.

Víctor es una persona alegre, solidaria y llena de optimismo, que siempre ha trabajado con dedicación por el bienestar de su familia. This campaign seeks to support **Víctor Hugo Rendón**, a 39-year-old husband and father of two daughters, whose life changed drastically in 2024 after being diagnosed with diabetic retinopathy.

In May 2024, doctors told him he needed treatment and surgery to control the disease, but that there was still time. For several months, he received argon laser therapy through the public health system, hoping to stop the progression of the damage. Unfortunately, by December of that same year, his condition had worsened significantly.

On December 2, 2024, Víctor began a long-term medical leave because his vision had started to deteriorate rapidly. By December he was still able to drive, but by January he could no longer do so. Over time, he lost the ability to recognize faces and move independently, even within his own home. He was the sole provider for his family, and since then, he has been unable to work.

By June 2025, doctors informed him that laser treatment was no longer viable due to the large amount of blood accumulated in the retina and vitreous, which prevented the procedure from working effectively. This led to the development of glaucoma in his left eye, which, sadly, cannot be recovered.

However, there is still a small hope of saving his right eye, which would allow him to regain some autonomy and improve his quality of life. To achieve this, Víctor needs a surgery that includes:

phacoemulsification of the crystalline lens + vitrectomy + membrane removal + retinopexy + silicone application in the right eye, as well as thermocyclophotocoagulation in the left eye.

The total cost of the surgery and postoperative treatment is approximately $5,000, an amount that his family cannot afford on their own.
