Rita needs our help! Ayuda a Rita!

Dear friends, family, and Rita-lovers,

We are devastated to share the news that our sweet little Rita was recently diagnosed with a mass on her spleen. We are starting this fundraiser in the hopes that we can raise money to help us pay for Rita's splenectomy, which we hope will save her life.

Rita's veterinarian is cautiously optimistic that the mass is benign, and that the splenectomy will be curative. However, her spleen needs to be removed as soon as possible because, left untreated, it will inevitably lead to death. We have done a lot of research and have consulted with multiple veterinarians and the recommendation we have received is to move forward with the splenectomy surgery because Rita has excellent odds of recovering from the surgery. We are thrilled that Rita can have another chance at life!

Unfortunately, we cannot know if the mass on Rita's spleen is cancerous or not until it has been removed. However, we do know that without the surgery, Rita cannot survive.

Rita is such a ray of sunshine in our lives, and we know she is a ray of sunshine in many of your lives too. Please consider donating to our fundraiser and/or sharing with others to help our Rita!

Querida familia, amigues y fans de Rita:

Estamos devastadas por compartir la noticia de que a nuestra pequeña y dulce Rita le han diagnostica recientemente un tumor en el bazo. Estamos comenzando esta recaudación de fondos con la esperanza de poder recaudar dinero para ayudarnos a pagar la esplenectomía de Rita (operación para extirparle el bazo), que esperamos le pueda salvar la vida.

La veterinaria de Rita piensa que, dadas las estadísticas, cabe la posibilidad de que el tumor de Rita sea benigno y que la esplenectomía pueda ser curativa. Sin embargo, es necesario extirparle el bazo lo antes posible porque, si no se trata, inevitablemente podría explorar y provocar su muerte. Hemos investigado mucho y hemos consultado con varios veterinarios y la recomendación que hemos recibido es seguir adelante con la cirugía de esplenectomía porque Rita tiene excelentes probabilidades de recuperarse de la operación y porque parece ser la única manera definitiva para saber si el tumor es cancerígeno o no. Tenemos grandes esperanzas de que Rita pueda sobrellevar la operación y de que el resultado del análisis del tumor sea no cancerígeno.

Por desgracia, no podemos saber si el tumor en el bazo de Rita es cancerígena o no hasta que haya sido extirpada. Sin embargo, sí sabemos que sin la cirugía, Rita tiene pocas posibilidades de sobrevivir.

Rita es un rayo de luz en nuestras vidas y sabemos que también lo es en muchas de las vuestras.
