Aviemore Community Ice
Is a project being developed by Aviemore and Glenmore Community Trust (AGCT)

CAN YOU HELP OUR COMMUNITY REALISE A LONG HELD AMBITION
TO SEE ICE RETURN TO AVIEMORE?

Aviemore has a long and proud history of winter sports and a large part of our winter sports heritage is ice sports.  Until the late 1990’s Aviemore had a full-size ice rink.  It was an incredibly popular destination for both locals and visitors and has been much missed.

AGCT, with the support of the local community, are fundraising to deliver a community-owned seasonal real ice rink to bring ice back to Aviemore.   The Trust have sourced a complete ice rink (20m x12m) with 150 pairs of skates and 15 skating aids for £35,000.

From community fundraising a deposit has been paid.  The rink will operate seasonally from mid October to end of March each year for locals and visitors but we need to raise £31,500 by September 2021 to pay the balance due on the rink!  Off-season it will be dismantled and stored off-site and ready for install in the following year

We can only do this with your help!  Any donation big or small would be greatly appreciated.

Together, let's bring ice back to Aviemore for locals and visitors to enjoy.  As well as providing recreational ice skating, Aviemore Community Ice also plans to offer learn to skate sessions to all schools within Badenoch and Strathspey.

Our progress to date:

·      Feasibility Study completed

·      'Use of site agreed (on the site of the old rink at Macdonald Aviemore Resort)

·      Planning permissions granted

·      Rink sourced and deposit paid

Amy and Ellie Aviemore Primary School Pupils

"it will be an awesome place to skate and hang-out with friends, it will help us improve our ice hockey and figure skating skills and for some of our friends it will be their first time of skates" Amy and Ellie,  are just two of the many young local people who will benefit from Aviemore Community Ice.

Please can you support us by donating and sharing our campaign to BRING ICE BACK TO AVIEMORE with EVERYONE!
