Fundraising for Grayson’s best pal, Aven!

My name is Lisa Boutin, on behalf of my son, Grayson Dyck.

In April of 2021, the devastating news was delivered to the parents of Aven Bashforth that their lively, bright 4th grade son had been diagnosed with leukemia.

Aven is Grayson's best friend, and neither Grayson nor I can imagine the impact this is having on their family. Aven will be in treatment for several years, and largely will be confined indoors due to his compromised immune system.

Grayson has decided that if he is able to raise $750, he will shave his head in a show of support for his dear friend. There isn't anything Grayson wouldn't do for him. He feels a little helpless not being able to do a whole for his friend, and we thought this would be a great fit. It'll mean the world for Grayson to be able to give his friend a gift that is all for him, to be able to spoil himself and be a kid again - let’s make Aven king for a day!

If he is able to meet his $750, on top of getting a haircut to match Aven's, he will purchase gift cards for Aven's favorite places so that he can have a bit of fun when he's stuck in the hospital . Grayson and I think that Aven deserves to be treated like a king, and we want to be able to give that to him.

Anything donated above Grayson's $750 goal will be directed toward the family's existing GoFundMe for travel and medical expenses.

Once Grayson hits his goal, we'll make sure to upload a video of his spiffy new 'do.
