I'm Autistic and Disabled, and I Need Your Help

Donation protected
I'm Steven. I'm 26 years old, I'm autistic and disabled, and I need your help. I was born with Asperger's autism. My parents were high school dropouts who never really had the means to take care of me. We were always going without basic needs, living on the streets as often as in an apartment. When I was 21 I left that toxic environment and tried to set out on my own. Things never got much better. With my Asperger's and clinically diagnosed problems such as OCD, bipolar depression, and anxiety, I struggled to find any jobs that I could physically work. I struggled to do pretty much everything. I met my amazing fiance Temi, pictured above, and in 2018 we moved in together with a roommate. In early 2019, disaster struck. Our roommate had been stealing from us. Every month we'd given them our half of the bills, only to find out that they kept the money. They never paid the bills. Our utilities were shut off, and we were evicted, without any clue this was going on. We were out on the streets. No family to turn to, nowhere to go, no money and no way to get any help. Once again, I was homeless. Only this time I had my fiance to take care of too. I didn't know what to do. We were homeless for almost all of 2019. In and out of hotels, acquaintances spare bedrooms, the street when we had no other choice. We tried to get help getting somewhere to live. We tried everything we could, and learned the hard way that there is surprisingly little help for people like us. And what help there is was so underfunded that they couldn't possibly help as many people in need as there are, there just is not enough resources. So we continued to fight, on our own, for a better life. At the end of 2019, we managed to get a lucky break. My fiance was accepted into Florida International University, to get her master's degree in business. With the little money left from her student loans after tuition, we were barely able to secure ourselves a small studio apartment on the border of Nevada and Utah, the literal middle of nowhere. We live 100 miles from any major city, but we were off the streets. We had a home. But life had never let me off easy, and it wasn't about to start now. My fiance couldn't find work, especially when Covid-19 start to set in on our country. Once again we were living off of just my disability benefits, which is barely enough to pay bills and get by on for one person, let alone two. We started struggling again. Badly. It's gotten to the point where I have almost no clothes. Three, maybe 4 outfits. Almost no underwear or socks. Because of her student status she was ineligible on my food stamps, and we're forced to eat one meal a day because that's all we can afford. When we can afford to eat at all. Sometimes we have to go days without food. Our phones were shut off, debts started piling up. Things are starting to be just like before. We have nothing. We were losing it all. I tried to start a dropshipping website. A way to make us more income, to help support us when there's nothing else I could really do. But I failed. I invested money I didn't have into it, and ended up never making a single sale. Now not only we were struggling, but I'd stupidly used what little we had in a failed business venture, and ruined us. We fell behind on bills. Now we're late on rent, in debt, starving. Our town is so small, so in the middle of nowhere, that we have no resources that we can turn to. There's a single food pantry. But there's no rental assistance, no help getting us back on our feet, no programs for the disabled that can help us. We are struggling so badly, living with nothing, and feeling like nobody cares. So this is my last resort. My cry for help. This is me getting down on my knees and begging for the help I have never received in life. This is me asking you, the kind and caring strangers of this world, to please help us. To give this young couple something we've never had: a chance at a real life. This money will help us cover our expenses and bills for the next few months, help us move to a place where we can get more assistance for people in my situation, help us buy clothes and hygiene products and all of these basic needs that we have had to go so long without. This money will help us survive until my fiance is able to graduate and find a career. This money means that we won't emd up back on the streets, just when things are starting to get cold. Please. If you can find it in your heart to donate a dollar, or to share this campaign, it would mean the world to us. After everything we have been through, after all we have endured, to know that somebody in this world cares about us is enough to bring us to tears. Help us get back on our feet so that someday we are in a position to pay it forward and help someone else in need. Thank you all for your time.
