Autism mom wants to SMILE & FEEL better AGAIN
Greetings to all,
My name is Lissette. I am a single grandparent and adoptive mother to my beloved keeper whose name is Jacob. Jacob is a handsome 12 years old boy who was diagnosed at the age of two with severe autism, ADHD and intellectual disability. Since his diagnose I have taken the full responsibility to raise Jacob who is not a burden but a big blessing in my life!
I have decided to create this page because I have some serious dental rehabilitation needs, care giving needs and financial needs . I live on a low fixed income and I do have Medicaid as my health insurance but Medicaid doe not cover the dental work that I so desperately need.
Due to dental phobia I have neglected my oral hygiene. This has caused me to have serious headaches, some bone losses in upper and
lower mouth in the areas where I have extracted my teeth (4 of them), gum residing and extreme teeth sensitivities in my whole mouth. Now I am in serious need of oral rehabilitation because of all these issues. These issues has caused me to be miserable and I now barely enjoy eating anything sweet and especially drinking something cold due to great discomfort and pain. The procedures will includes sedation of 6 hours, 4 implants due to missing teeth, 2 root canals, 3 crowns, and a possibility of bone grafting (when the surgeon examines me he will let me know if I do need it) with veneers upper and lower due to the sensitivity of all my teeth.
Here in NY the cost is extremely expensive. The cost so far is $27,825.00 plus which does not include the bone grafting and veneers and root canals. If I would finance it will take me a lifetime to pay it back . I decided to go to Dominican Republic to get my mouth done which is less expensive. I found a great advance dental rehabilitation clinic named Denstetica. I have spoken to Dr. Pena, the surgeon who stated that I will need to make 2 trips. The first is to do mostly all the work and the second trip will be to put on the 4 crowns for the implants after my
gums heals.
Due to Jacob's special needs, the few dental appointments while in DR, the long hours of the surgical procedures and recovery time I will
need an aid to assist me with Jacob on these trips which is an additional cost.
My first planned trip will be on August 2, 2021. The second trip will be on November 2021.
