Hi, this is Jenny and her beautiful boy River. Jenny had a difficult birth with River, and after 79 days in the NICU, River finally came home. This moment also marked the beginning of a life-changing chapter for Jenny. Jenny has been a diabetic since she was 14, and the birth triggered and worsened a series of medical challenges that she is still battling. She has been dealing with dangerously high blood pressures and blood sugar levels, resulting in multiple stays at the hospital over the past year. Doctors have now confirmed multiple organ failure. Her pancreas has failed, along with her kidneys—end stage renal failure—and now her bladder. She will not be approved for transplant (kidneys and pancreas) unless her bladder is in working condition. She is scheduled for bladder surgery at the end of March for an implant that works like a pacemaker for the bladder. However, if insurance does not approve it, the surgery will be canceled.
Jenny is supporting herself and River on her own, while also helping care for her two disabled brothers. She had to let go of her job to prioritize her health, which now includes weekly follow-up appointments with specialists and dialysis that requires a commitment of four-hour treatments three to four days out of the week, and much-needed rest following treatment. To make matters even harder, her car has completely broken down and the engine is locked up. She has been relying on friends and family for transportation.
Jenny needs our help and our prayers as she walks through this incredibly difficult chapter of her life. Her immediate family and devoted friends have been doing everything they can, but we need a village to come alongside them. If you are able to contribute in any way, it would mean more than words can express. It is never easy to ask for help, but sometimes it becomes necessary. Please consider sharing this if you feel led. We are deeply grateful for your kindness and support. Thank you, and may God bless you.
