Hello, my name is Matthew Gendron, and I am reaching out to you today with a heartfelt request to support a wonderful family. I have had the privilege of knowing Enrique and Samantha Ponce for five years. They are two of the kindest, most dedicated parents I know, and together, they have a beautiful and spirited daughter, Gianna Marisela Ponce.
Gianna's laughter and joy light up every room she enters. She is a bright and curious child who loves exploring the world around her. However, on April 21st, 2024, Gianna was diagnosed with Retinoblastoma at Valley Children's Hospital in Madera, CA. Retinoblastoma is a rare and aggressive form of eye cancer that primarily affects young children. The diagnosis was a devastating blow to Enrique and Samantha, but they are determined to fight this battle with everything they have to save their precious daughter.
Despite her young age, Gianna has shown incredible strength and resilience. As she embarks on this challenging journey of treatments, hospital visits, and surgeries, we want to ensure that her family can focus solely on her health and well-being without the added burden of financial stress.
Gianna's treatment plan includes frequent trips to San Francisco Children's Hospital, adding to the family's emotional and financial strain. The funds raised through this GoFundMe campaign will be used to cover Gianna's medical expenses, including hospital stays, treatments, medications, and any other related costs. Additionally, the funds will help support the family with travel expenses to and from the hospital, as well as any necessary adjustments to their home to accommodate Gianna's needs during her recovery.
Enrique has served our country with honor and dedication, and now it is our turn to support him and his family in their time of need. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in Gianna's fight against Retinoblastoma. If you are unable to donate, we ask that you please share this with your network to help spread the word.
Thank you for taking the time to read Gianna's story and for your generosity and support. Together, we can help Gianna and her family navigate this challenging journey and give them hope for a brighter future.
