✨ Help to Stand Strong, keep my Skincare Business Alive

I am a survivor, taking one of the hardest steps: asking for HELP
I urgently need your support to cover my medical treatments and to keep my small skincare business alive.
For over two years, I have been fighting to recover from violent assaults, medical setbacks, and continuous stalking by proxy, all while struggling to keep my small business alive. I rely on your help to survive an immediate crisis, and to rescue my small business.

I fought to keep the doors of my shops open while being body impaired and in chronic pain since a Head / Neck strike by a Wellness Trainer in August 13th 2013. I am fighting to recover my health, worried about my safety while fighting for my last storefront location.

Over the past two years, I have undergone extensive medical interventions and physical therapy to regain the upper body strength necessary to return to providing facials. In recent weeks, however, I have faced serious health setbacks that threaten my progress and stability.

Your immediate support will help protect me from being forced into the “victim status” that violence so often imposes on survivors. I am engaged in a daily fight to preserve my dignity while enduring continuous stalking by proxy.

Why GoFundMe Now
On July 23, 2025, while waiting for food order in a drive-thru, an individual illegally entered the drive-thru on foot and deliberately flung a liquid with force into my open car window. The assault was so violent that it was forcefully hurled into my eyes and face, causing painful abrasions to both my eyes and my skin. I was attacked from the outside while seated inside my own vehicle — an unexpected and traumatic violation that has left me with both physical injuries and emotional distress.

I suffered corneal abrasions and severe irritation, which triggered new neurological symptoms on top of my existing condition.

The eye assault required an emergency room visit, follow-ups with an eye specialist, and a strict course of treatment that included antibiotics, multiple medications, and careful daily care. Healing took over four weeks just to begin resolving.

Painful Medical Recovery

On August 25, 2025, after undergoing a new round of cerebral injections, I suffered a severe flare-up and acute inflammation that left me bedridden for three weeks.

The initial assault on August 13, 2025 caused a concussion, brain injury, and neurological damage to my head, neck, and shoulders. Since then, I have endured invasive treatments including bilateral occipital nerve injections, cervical steroid injections, and cerebral injections, and I have now been referred to neurosurgery.

To this day, I continue to live with significant impairments and chronic pain. My neurological condition has become increasingly complex, and I am now scheduled to see a neurosurgeon in October for further evaluation and treatment.

Since late July, I have been unable to return to work. I’ve missed all of my payments, and my condition continues to keep me from facials my main livelihood because of chronic cerebral pain flare-ups and left side body impairment.

More into my medical Journey : For more than two years, I have received several interventions including invasives cerebral injections, I fought to survive.

I’ve exhausted every resource, sold my assets, and pushed forward whenever I could. But even the most basic facials or small jobs are now extremely difficult because of my neurological state. Still, I am determined to hold onto my dignity and independence.

A Lifeline: your help to pay bills - save my shop - car - package products get back on my feet with the Lab Donation

My product manufacturing lab, which I have worked with for over 13 years, came to my rescue with a $20,000 donation of products.

With the help of community members, most pales are being transferred to bottles! Yet I need to pay this young woman an Ayurvedic beauty professional volunteer who is working non stop to bottle over 30 pales of plant based skincare.

We need boxes- shopping material, labels and more packing supplies.

Your support will help me turn this donation into sales, save my shop.
This is exactly what I need to avoid the point of no return.

I am aching to advocate for justice. Any support will help me get closer to reopening the criminal case that was brushed out, as if I deserved to be prosecuted inside my own business. Your contribution brings me closer to holding the suspect accountable for feeling entitled to destroy my life, and closer to reclaiming justice. Justice is my dignity.

I truly believe my case is supposed to be investigated under California Penal Code §245 / §243(d). However, survival and sustaining my recovery are my primary concerns right now. Any support to pursue justice will be deeply appreciated.

About Me
My name is Mouna Laini (Mouna de Laine). I am a 55-year-old skincare professional, esthetician, and founder of The Moroccan Spa, launched in North Hollywood in 2013. Since 2001, I’ve poured my life and savings into creating safe spaces to share the beauty and wellness traditions of Morocco.

I never imagined my professional journey would make me a target of cruelty in the very wellness industry I helped build.

Injustice at First Sight

Thirty minutes after the strike, I called the police. Bite marks on my arm and lacerations on my scalp were visible, yet they marked my report as “no visible injuries.” Paramedics said I was “okay” because my vital signs were normal and dismissed my pleas about head trauma.

When I showed the bite marks, one officer laughed. The supervisor spoke at length with the suspect before addressing me. Instead of documenting the assault, he questioned me about my lease. The paramedics repeated I was “just upset.”

Because LAPD reported “no case, no crime,” I was denied California Victim Compensation. That support could have sustained me and delayed financial collapse.

From Pain to Thrive

Despite everything, I refuse to quit. The lab’s donation of products — just like our very first batch in 2010 — reminded me that I still have so much to give.

With the holidays approaching, your donations will allow me to hire help, package, and label products so I can convert my spa into retail while I recover.

Your generosity fuels my resilience. As Ray Dalio says: pain + reflection = progress. I add: a loving community is stronger than cruelty.

A Campaign of Stalking by Proxy

Since July 2022, I have also lived under stalking by proxy — cruelty fueled by xenophobia.

My business pages on Yelp, Google, and others were repeatedly shut down.

False complaints flooded city offices, pressuring them to close my doors.

Even my partners were targeted, forcing them to distance themselves.

In my one last shop I still own, an $800 worth of Moroccan pottery and plants were stolen, not just theft, this is cultural erasure.

This campaign worsened my neurological condition, triggered PTSD, and left me paralyzed.

My spa is not just a business — it is my identity, heritage, and contribution to California’s beauty and wellness industry.

Please donate what you can today and share this campaign with others. Every single contribution, no matter the size, helps me stay on my feet, continue treatment, and keep my small business alive. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
