My name is Askin Aydin, I am 27 years old, and I am a cancer patient suffering from nasopharyngeal carcinoma (head and neck cancer).

At the moment, I am struggling financially due to medical costs. My 2025 deductible is still outstanding, and now the 2026 costs have been added on top. Additionally, some of the medications I need are not covered.

I live on social benefits because I am no longer fit to work, which unfortunately is too low to cover both my fixed expenses and these additional costs. Saving is simply not possible at this time, and I still have a long treatment journey ahead.

My transportation costs are also very high. Due to intensive treatments and chemotherapy, I have to go to the hospital frequently. Traveling by public transport is not only expensive but also extremely exhausting in my situation. I have tried using RMC transport, but there is not always space and the waiting times are often too long, especially when I want to get home quickly after a heavy treatment.

Therefore, I humbly ask for help. Every contribution, no matter how small, will help me get through this difficult period and allow me to focus on my recovery.

The donations will be used as follows:

First, I want to buy a small car, so I can travel to the hospital independently and at my own pace. This will give me much-needed peace during a heavy rehabilitation period.

Next, I will pay off my outstanding medical bills and deductibles from 2025 and 2026, and also prepare for the upcoming 2027 costs, so they do not cause financial stress again.

I will also cover the costs of medications that are not reimbursed, allowing me to continue my treatment without interruption.

Whatever remains, I want to use to do something nice with my family. During this period, spending time with family means everything to me.

Although I try to stay positive, there are also days when it is mentally and physically tough. Cancer is not only a fight in the body but also in the mind. Some days simply take more energy and feel heavier than others.

Mijn naam is Askin Aydin, ik ben 27 jaar oud en ik lijd aan nasofarynxcarcinoom (hoofd- en halskanker).

Op dit moment heb ik het financieel zwaar door de medische kosten. Mijn eigen risico van 2025 staat nog open, en inmiddels zijn de kosten van 2026 daar bovenop gekomen. Daarnaast worden sommige medicijnen die ik nodig heb niet vergoed.

Ik leef van een uitkering, die helaas te laag is om zowel mijn vaste lasten als deze extra kosten te dekken. Sparen is op dit moment simpelweg niet mogelijk.

Ook mijn vervoerskosten zijn erg hoog. Door de intensieve behandelingen en chemotherapie moet ik vaak naar het ziekenhuis. Reizen met het openbaar vervoer is niet alleen duur, maar ook extreem vermoeiend in mijn situatie. Ik heb geprobeerd gebruik te maken van RMC-vervoer, maar daar is niet altijd plek en de wachttijden zijn vaak te lang, vooral wanneer ik na een zware behandeling zo snel mogelijk naar huis wil.

Daarom vraag ik, met alle bescheidenheid, om hulp. Elke bijdrage, hoe klein ook, helpt mij om deze moeilijke periode door te komen en mij te kunnen blijven focussen op mijn herstel.

De donaties zullen als volgt gebruikt worden:

Allereerst wil ik een kleine auto aanschaffen, zodat ik zelfstandig en op mijn eigen tempo naar het ziekenhuis kan reizen. Dit zal mij veel rust geven tijdens een zware behandelperiode.

Daarnaast ga ik mijn openstaande zorgkosten en eigen risico’s van 2025 en 2026 afbetalen, en alvast rekening houden met de kosten die in 2027 eraan komen, zodat deze niet opnieuw voor financiële stress zorgen.

Ook zal ik de kosten voor medicijnen die niet vergoed worden hiermee dekken, zodat ik mijn behandeling zonder onderbreking kan voortzetten.

Wat er overblijft, wil ik gebruiken om samen met mijn familie iets leuks te doen. In deze periode betekent tijd met familie alles voor mij.
