Support for Mother of Five fighting Cancer
Donation protected
My Cancer Story:
In June of 2024, I gave birth to my fifth child. During the pregnancy, I struggled with severe anemia, horrid stomach cramps, and spells of dizziness. I wrongly assumed that it was just side effects of having a child at nearly 40 years old. I was wrong. I was diagnosed with leiomyosarcoma. It had been growing along my uterus and was a rather large but mostly contained tumor.
My treatments so far have been:
2 rounds of chemo
2 rounds of radiation
And I am currently on a regimen of targeted therapy drugs.
Even with all this, things are not going well. It has metastasized, and my doctors do not believe they can remove it surgically at this point.
My Family:
I have 5 small children, ages 9 to 10 months. They understand that Mommy is tired a lot because she is sick but not much more than that. My ability to work is limited by the fact that I am dizzy after 5-10 minutes on my feet, but I am still trying.
There is a program at the Duke University Cancer Institute for a clinical trial for my cancer called Polaris.
What we are asking:
This program requires regular trips to Durham, NC, as well as my husband taking time off of work. I will be unable to work during these treatments.
Anything you can donate in support of our journey will go towards travel expenses, drug costs (for those outside of the trial but prescribed for side effects, etc.), and towards our monthly bills.
You can also show support by sharing this page so that our story can reach as many people as possible.
Thank you
