"They gave her a 5% chance to live… and she proved them wrong."
On June 14, 2025, our lives changed forever. Our beloved Ashlan was in a horrific car accident driving back from her little brother's birthday party in Herington, Kansas. Within hours, she was CareFlighted to Medical City Plano and placed on the highest level of life support—ECMO, a ventilator, and an Impella device. Her body went into complete crisis, with heart, lung, kidney, and liver failure. Doctors told us to prepare for the worst.
But Ashlan is a fighter.
After weeks of surgeries, procedures, and countless prayers, her heart began working again, and her kidneys started to recover. She spent 36 days in the ICU before moving to Baylor Scott & White Rehabilitation, where she is now undergoing intense physical and occupational therapy.
Today, Ashlan is paralyzed from the waist down due to Transverse Myelitis, an autoimmune condition triggered after the accident. She is working hard to become wheelchair-independent and relearn daily tasks most of us take for granted. Doctors say recovery could take up to two years—and walking again is still a possibility.
Why We Need Your Help
Ashlan faces enormous medical bills, home accessibility modifications, and ongoing therapy expenses. Her mom, Mindy, has become her full-time caregiver and is unable to work. The financial burden is overwhelming, but every donation brings us closer to giving Ashlan the care and resources she needs.
She’s already beaten the odds once—proving the doctors wrong—and she’s determined to keep fighting.
Please join us in supporting Ashlan’s journey. Every contribution, big or small, makes a difference.
