My goal is to establish a Scholarship in memory of my mother – Artress Holt.   

My mother lived the majority of her life in Columbia, Tennessee.  She worked as a nurse for over twenty years before retiring.  She was a devoted wife and extraordinary mother.  She lost her husband (my father) in 1976 and raised me by herself. 

My mother was adamant I attend college.  As a result of my mother paying for my education, I have enjoyed a successful career as a nurse as well.  I also obtained my Masters in Nursing, but without that first step my mother made possible – nothing else would have followed.  I would like to help someone else have a successful career in healthcare just as my mother made possible for me.  This scholarship will be awarded to a non-traditional student attending Columbia State Community College pursing a degree in healthcare. 

Please help me keep her memory alive by establishing this Scholarship in her name and enabling a student to have a wonderful opportunity to pursue a career in healthcare.
