Arlo’s knee & ACL surgery fund
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Hannah and I am the owner of 1 year old American Bully, Arlo. I rescued Arlo from a local shelter here in Erie PA when he was just 9 weeks old. We just celebrated our first year together on 2/13/22! We love hiking, shopping at TJ Maxx, fostering dogs in need, and volunteering through Therapy Dogs United on our down time together.
Over the past few months, Arlo began limping on his right hind leg. He was seen at the vet where she confirmed it was due to his knee cap popping in and out of place each time he walked; the only fix for this is surgery. In most cases, this is due to poor genetics. Before being referred to a specialist for surgery, X-rays needed to be taken to confirm the condition of both of his knees, as well as his hips as the vet is concerned he also has mild hip dysplasia.
The X-rays (taken on 2/15/22) not only showed that his right knee cap was indeed out of place, but that he also has a torn ACL. Having both of these conditions in the same leg, we were referred to a specialist for surgery. Fortunately, his opposite leg and hips looked better than she expected
A referral has been made to a veterinarian in Pittsburgh that specializes in these types of complex surgeries. I am hoping to have Arlo’s surgery within the next couple of months as he is progressively having a harder and harder time getting around on his back leg.
With this being said, I am reaching out for help. The vet costs thus far have not been cheap and this surgery will be the most expensive of them all. Along with the surgery, there will be travel expenses, medication costs, follow-up visits, etc.
I am a single mom (of 6 rescued animals) and typically do not ask for help but in order to get Arlo the care he needs, in a timely fashion, help is much needed! He is my first dog child so I hate to see him in pain. Truly any amount helps, or if you cannot donate, a share would mean so much!
Thank you in advance for those that support his surgery and related costs❤️ This will not be an easy time in our lives. I will continue to make updates when I can. To follow along closer with Arlo and his journey, you can follow him on Instagram and Tiktok at Arlo.the.bullyy!
