Hello! For the last two years, I've been a full-time grad student, pursuing a Master's of Public Administration through the University of Colorado Denver.
For the last semester of my graduate program, I've been selected to study public management and public health policy in Uganda and Rwanda! Through this program, I'll work with communities on innovative solutions to eradicate poverty; study the conservation-poverty intersect; engage with locals and tour education centers and non-governmental organizations; and step outside my comfort zone and be challenged to make a difference.
Since I've started my grad program, I've had a keen interest in homelessness and effective solutions. Through this trip, I hope to gain a whole new toolbox, from which practices may someday be incorporated into Colorado communities!
I am so so elated for this incredible opportunity, and I'm asking for your help. Throughout the course of my studies, I've also worked full-time for the Town of Lyons as the communications coordinator and economic development associate. Fulfilling? Sure. Paycheck comparable to the Kardashians? No chance. Not even the brother? Not even the brother.
I am raising $6,500 to cover tuition and housing ($4,770), airfare ($1,600), and meals, visas, and personal expenses.
