Ari's Bar Mitzvah Project
Donation protected
For my Bar Mitzvah Project, I chose to raise money to purchse tefillin for my synagogue, Temple Sholom, and the solders serving in the IDF, the Israeli Defense Forces. Tefillin are little black boxes filled with parchment containing inscribed verses of the Torah. Tefillin are worn on the head and arm during certain prayer services. It is one of the most important mitzvahs that Jews can perform.
I chose this project because the theme of my Bar Mitzvah is tradition. The tradition of wrapping Tefillin was explained to me by my Poppy, who wrapped every week. To honor the memory of my Poppy and to fulfill my obligation of giving back to both my community and to those soldiers defending Israel is why this campaign is so important to me.
The campaign will culminate with me teaching others how to wrap tefillin on February 5th, 2017 at the World Wide Wrap at Temple Sholom.
I hope you will consider supporting my campaign by donating now.....
My Heartfelt Thanks,
Ari
