As many people know, I’ve suffered with mental illness for many years. About a week ago, it all got to be too much, and I honestly felt like I’d be better off dead and that everyone else would be better off as well. I attempted to take my life and was unsuccessful. I was admitted to the behavioral health hospital, and my doctor said I was a prime candidate for Ketamine infusion therapy. My main issue is that I have OCD really bad and have terrible intrusive thoughts that cycle over and over and over again to the point that it’s maddening. I can’t control it, and it has led me to lose job after job after job. I have been sober now for 3 years, and I honestly thought things would get better. They haven’t. My mental illness has spiraled out of control and has led me to become homeless with no income and unable to return to work. The doctor at the hospital stated that 86% of the people with my issues respond to ketamine infusion therapy and that it would be a life changer. While at the hospital, the administrator contacted my insurance company, and we found out they cover 100% of this therapy. For the first time in YEARS, I felt hopeful! I felt like there was a possibility of getting my life back.
I had the consultation today with the doctor at the clinic, and he said I was an ideal candidate and explained how it worked. I was so happy. Well, at the end of the consultation, he informed me that the clinic does not handle the submitting of the claim and that I have to self-submit the claim, and the insurance company will reimburse me. Being that I am not able to work, I don’t have the money to pay for the treatments. I honestly feel like this is a life or death situation for me. I am asking to raise $3000 to cover the cost of this therapy. If there is ANYTHING at all you can give, please, please donate for me. I’m at the end of my rope, and if I can’t get this treatment, I don’t see a future for me. Please help me raise the money for this. You will be saving and changing my life.
