It’s our turn to be there for the Mays family. Cameron and Anne have been great friends to so many of us, our second parents and family when we need them. Now we get to show up for them and show them how much we love and appreciate them.
As many of you know Anne went in for a simple surgery on Wednesday, August 27th. By Thursday, she began to go into septic shock. Anne has been fighting for her life since then. On Friday morning, they did emergency surgery to try to find the issue and discovered they had nicked her bowel on Wednesday. She was then flown to Advent Celebration in Orlando where they discovered her bowel was leaking again which caused her sepsis to spike. They also found a hole in her esophagus that was allowing bile and gastric fluids to leak into her body. This, too, has been addressed and will be watched carefully. We are so thankful that Anne is now in really good care, but she still has an extremely long road ahead of her and will need extensive rehab once they get her on the road to recovery.
The money from this gofund me is going to help the Mays family cover the travel expenses so the family can be close to Anne as much as possible and to help cover the rehab and medical expenses. This is also a place where you can share an encouraging word or a prayer for the family.
