*1/25/2019:Hello Everyone! I’m the Mother of Annabelle Rose, my name is Jeanette. Annabelle has been recently diagnosed with Leukemia (ALL). About a week and a half ago Annabelle had the flu and was on tamiflu, a week later her Left foot was swollen and she couldn’t walk on it. We took her to Urgent Care and no fracture was seen, we followed up with her Pediatrician that Monday
*1/21/19 to obtain a referral for an Orthopedic.
*Weds 1/23/19 morning Annabelle & I went to the orthopedic who didn’t see any fracture as well, we were told to go to the ER for bloodwork, Incase an infection is present. Hours later the bloodwork came back and the earth shattering news of being transferred to a speciality hospital and r/o leukemia. Only to end up finding out she does have Leukemia and we have a long road ahead of us. As a Parent it’s the LAST thing you want to hear, I’ve been with her since the orthopedic office because I cannot possibly think of taking care of my patients while this is going on with my child. Annabelle is my only child and my entire heart!! My head is spinning and heart aches for her, but I don’t let her see me sweat so she’s remained in pretty good spirits, she’s not fully aware of what’s going on. I’ve started a GoFundMe to help with caring for Annabelle. ANY amount is SO appreciated, and I’ll keep everyone updated on here as well. Also, the reason her foot was swollen and she couldn’t walk on it was due to the fact that she has leukemia which effects the bone marrow and blood. She’s been unable to walk since last Saturday, hopefully that’ll change soon.
~~~~*Timeline*~~~~•Early January-the flu•1/19/19- urgent care for injured foot•1/23/19-orthopedic and emergency room, Transferred to pediatric hematology oncology unit.•1/24/19-bone marrow aspiration, spinal tap and intrathecal chemo tx.•1/25/19-surgery for port placement.
