Hello Friends & Family,
2015 has been roller coaster year for me with major health & financial challenges stretching my support system to its limits. It’s been very difficult for me to acknowledge that I needed financial help to turn things around. Im turning the page and moving a way out of comfort zone taking a big step to ask for help through GoFundMe.com
Things for me were turned upside in early July, losing my job at Lowe’s and the following day being rushed to the hospital for a two week stay with pneumonia and a serious gallbladder infection. Nursing staff were very concerned that I was on the verge of being homeless. Thanks to the loving kindness and generosity of a close friend, I found a place to stay, recover and get back on my feet. Throughout the fall as my health improved, I began the search for work & slowly started putting the pieces of my life back together. My situation is a tale of going from living a self-supporting comfortable life to almost losing it all, being alone, suffering in silence, desperate for a way turn things around, made even more difficult in uncertain job market. I successfully found two retail part jobs in November working steadily until the early December, then getting sick again, suddenly being admitted to the hospital for serous infection again with my gallbladder. The good health news is that the gallbladder was removed and I’m on the mend.
I have very little cash on hand and having trouble keeping all the bills paid. Income support, health & food assistance from Alberta Works and the Calgary Food Bank however, have very been helpful. Cash donations will help will with transition back to work and regular income. Until, I have stable income donations pleged will pay rent and other fixed monthly expenses. How soon do I need funds? As soon as possible to help pay some past due bills and bring my rent up to date with my very understanding roomate.
I recently applied for full time positions and I am confident that I can secure a good paying job in the new year providing much needed stability.
Asking for your help is hard to do, but necessary to my life back on track. Any amount you can pledge will mean so much to me and and acccepted with my deepest gratiitude and appreciation.
