Walking Coast To Coast For AngelmanUK

Donation protected
Introduction
Hello! we are Bailey, Jacob and Oliver. In August, we will hike from the Irish Sea at St Bee's in Cumbria to the North Sea at Robin Hoods Bay in Yorkshire. We are doing this over 2 weeks at an estimated length of 190 miles to raise money for AngelmanUK and Humberston Park Special School.

About Morgan
Morgan Pike, age 17, is Bailey's younger brother, he has a condition known as Angelman Syndrome which is a rare genetic disorder. It causes delayed development, problems with speech and balance, intellectual disability, and, sometimes, seizures. People with Angelman Syndrome often smile and laugh frequently, and have happy, excitable personalities. Due to this disorder, Morgan attends a special school, Humberston Park Special School which is a school that caters to the needs of all kinds of children with all kinds of disabilities which can be read about further on.

AngelmanUK
AngelmanUK is a charity that help support people with Angelman Syndrome and their families as well as carers of people with Angelman Syndrome. They also provide support to professionals working with the person with AS, who may have met very few or no other individuals with Angelman Syndrome in their professional career. They aim to educate and raise awareness of this rare neurological condition and the issues that surround it. As with many such conditions, Angelman Syndrome is not just about a simple diagnosis, but requires parents and carers to adapt as situations change and the individual grows older. They assist many organisations and individuals in carrying out research into Angelman Syndrome and its many related areas. Much of this research has already provided great benefit to families and carers around the world. They are one of the founder members of the international Angelman Syndrome Alliance – a cross border research initiative that is allowing smaller groups to pool resources for the benefit of all.

Humberston Park Special School
