Please meet Casey. Casey is a 9 year old angel that suffers from a severe form of graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), a disease she contracted after receiving a transplant for her leukemia. She takes 40 medications a day, and can't venture out in the sun as she burns very easily. Casey is even having to learn how to walk again, a result of the effects of some of her medications. Despite all of this, she is a happy little girl that loves life and her little sister. Unfortunately, the financial strain of 6 years of illness has forced her family into a roach infested shelter. Because of Casey's suppressed immune system, this environment is very dangerous to her. A group of family friends have begun looking for a better living situation for Casey and her family within 90 minutes of her hospital, Sloan Kettering Memorial. Since I can not help look for housing in New York, I created this campaign to help the family with rent for the new safer housing they will hopefully find. Right now, please join me in supporting Casey and her family. All money raised here will go directly to them for rent expenses.
