This letter serves to clarify that Andy Herrera Reyes, born October 27, 2004, received four open heart surgeries in different hospitals and the last procedure he underwent was at UF Shands Hospital in Gainesville FL, there he underwent a heart transplant.
His heart is stable, Andy's story has been a true miracle, he has been connected to the ECMO machine for a period of almost 393 days, Andy is considered the greatest survivor in the world on the ECMO machine.
There are two medical documentaries and his story has touched more than 33 countries, many channels and newspapers.
He was in intensive care for two years, but survived, and was discharged from the hospital, because he was connected to the ECMO machine for 393 days his kidneys were affected, at this time Andy requires a kidney transplant, that it is the last step to his final recovery.
He urgently needs a kidney transplant and it should be done as soon as possible so that he can lead a normal life. The University of Florida Gainesville Hospital (UF Gainesville) has accepted Andy for a kidney transplant with a quote of $ 67,800.00 to cover medical expenses.
