Andrew's Promises

Donation protected
Andrew Kraus passed away unexpectedly on July 12 due to dehydration-related complications after a hot day at work. He was 24 years old. Andrew was a young man who made a tremendous impact on all who knew him. He was hard-working, committed, intelligent, humorous, supportive, trustworthy, caring, and loving. Moreover, Andrew was a lover of large dogs, full-bodied beers, trucks, hats, hiking boots, country music, and flannel shirts.

Family was important to Andrew. He was an incredible son who enjoyed long debates with his father John, shared daily chats and inside jokes with his mother Heather and was extremely proud of his sister Mari’s accomplishments. He never hung up the phone or ended a conversation without telling his family he loved and appreciated them, and, in return, he was reminded wholeheartedly how much he was loved and cherished. Andrew made his family proud in all that he did.

Additionally, Andrew was a devoted and loving boyfriend to Victoria, the love of his life. He and Victoria met in college at Augustana. After graduation, their new life plan included pursuing masters degrees and living life to its fullest. They had promised each other in their plan that Victoria would get her masters degree first while Andrew worked, and then Andrew would pursue his masters degree while Victoria worked. They moved to the St. Louis area where Victoria has been working to complete her music therapy degree at Maryville University. Andrew enjoyed the work he did as it took him outdoors and allowed him to be surrounded by nature. Mostly, though, they enjoyed their time together and created a home full of love. They both shared this love of the outdoors and life with their two doggos, Sadie and Cooper. This life they were building sparked dreams of a future filled with adventure: backpacking through the National Parks; traveling to Iceland; and getting engaged and married.

As Andrew is unable to fulfill his promises to Victoria, those who love him are hoping to help bring his unfulfilled promises to fruition. Any money raised will go to supporting Victoria in finishing her masters degree; something to which Andrew was deeply committed. Any additional funds would be used toward providing scholarship opportunities at either his high school or college. John, Heather, Mari  and Victoria are grateful for your prayers and support as they have helped them navigate this immensely difficult time.
